Here are a few things that you should not do when you are out hunting real estate.

  1. Look up the real estate advertisements that match your needs. Do not keep calling the same person multiple times. This will not help you during your negotiation. It would show you as a person too interested in the property and that is to your disadvantage.
  2. Always go by the federal guidelines if any on the real estate for sale. Better still you can check with your bank to let you know what they would fund you for that property. That would give you an idea on the market conditions for the property.
  3. Do net get carried away by the numerous real estate advertising that talk of luxuries unless you are very keen in throwing away wads of currencies to buy a luxurious villa!
  4. Never hesitate to spend two or three visits to the property you plan to buy. A good visit that would throw decent light on the property is essential to close the deal happily.
  5. Never buy a property for trading purposes! Do not try to do a business in real estate if that is not your business. There are people who are into it, lock stock and barrel. Why do you want to change your job unless otherwise you have an idea of making it big there?
