Mount Olympus in Greece, also known as Olympos is the highest place in the country at 2919 meters height. It is also the mountain that tops all the mountains of Europe in terms of height. The mountain is located at a distance of about 100 Kms from Thessaloniki, which is the second largest city of Greece.
A wide variety of flora that includes many of the endemic species is the specialty of the Mount Olympus. The peak name Mitika in this mountain is the highest peak of Greece. Many hill climbers come to climb the mountain and all such adventures start at Litochoro town. The proximity to the mountain prompted the historians to name it as the City of Gods.
